Aim of Persuasion • Persuasion will cause a person to act in a particular way or hold a particular point view. Persuasion occurs in different situations such as the inter-school debates, inter-prep debates, debates for president of the students’ council ,advertisements and other practical forms of persuasive speech and writing which occur all around-and to you- daily.
Importance of Persuasive Techniques • It is important that you are able to identify the techniques used in persuasion. This will help you to make more informed decisions when you make choices! • Additionally, when faced with persuasive techniques you will be able to recognise, anticipate and assess.

The aim of argumentative writing • Argumentative speech and writing aim to convince the reader to accept the merits of a particular point of view as being more acceptable.
