  1. 7 Steps to Effective Bible Teaching What ONE law would you employ in a teaching?

  2. LEARNER ORIENTED • Teaching isn't what the teacher does • Teaching is: causing the student to learn. • This is your responsibility. • You are a servant: focus on them. • Nervous? • Getting attention. • How to determine if you've taught?

  3. EXPECTATION ORIENTED • Expect alot out of them, believe in them. • Exercise Faith, get a vision! • Express that belief! Don't rail.

  4. APPLICATION ORIENTED • Explanation without application is an abortion of the truth. • Only a means towards application. • Application defined: the use of the knowledge in a practical way. • else, it’s spiritual pride. • What is your audience going to leave the room convinced of?

  5. RETENTION ORIENTED • Distill your material to an irreducible minimum. • what ONE sentence describes your teaching? • Use numbers, divisions. • Use Agitation Slogans. • Simple charts, illustrations.

  6. NEED ORIENTED • If it didn't meet your audience's needs, it was a failure! • Don’t impress. Affect. • Teach the people, don't Teach the teaching. • Listen to what others have to say in HC • What is the need they think they have?

  7. EQUIPPING ORIENTED • Equipping means get ready for WORK. • What takes place after the meeting? • Bear observable FRUIT.

  8. Revival oriented • Did you CHANGE? • Sin, salvation, etc: the great spiritual truths.

  9. HOW TO DEVELOP A BURDEN • Focus first on your own life • How has understanding and following this truth changed your life? • How did you learn this truth? • What happened when you refused to follow it? • Focus on a few individuals in your audience • How are they lacking now because they don't know or follow it?
