Why should I use Blackboard? • Your lessons, notes, etc. are accessible to students anywhere there is Internet access. • You can create tests and quizzes that grade themselves and students get instant feedback. • It is template based, so it does not require computer expertise.
What does Blackboard have to offer? • Post lessons on-line • Give tests and quizzes on-line • Turn in work digitally • Post announcements • Students can access grades • Give surveys • Create discussion boards • Organize calendar • Manage your grade book • Create collaborative groups

Time to create your course • Log in – your user id and password are the same as your laptop login. • Update your information – click the My Blackboard tab (top of page) and the link to personal information (tools box) and update your e-mail address.
Enrollment Options Choose settings and enrollment options to choose how your students enroll in your course; the default is set for self-enrollment.
Student Enrollment Options Students search for your course and enroll themselves. Have students type in the course name here.
How do students register for my class? • They must create one Blackboard account for all their courses. • Click the IISD courses tab at the top of the screen. • Type the name of your course in the course search box and press go. • Press the enroll button.

Course Design Change the course design to suit your style.
Staff Information Enter information about you!
Manage Course Menu Add, edit and/or remove course buttons.
Add Assignments Add files, tests, links, etc. in Assignments.
Assignments Add an assignment (tied to grade book) Add a folder Add a link to another area of your course Add a document (not tied to BB grade book) Add an Internet link Add a test you have created
