  2. The Appalachian Mountains The continental part of the USA consists of two highland regions: the Appalachian Mountains and the Cordillera.

  3. The Grand Canyon in Arizona The Grand Canon is one of the most awesome spectacles on earth. For centuries the Colorado River cuts its way through layers of rock. As the river sank, it left red and yellow rock walls a mile high on either side. The Grand Canyon is so deep it has different climates at different levels

  8. The Niagara Falls, on the Niagara River between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, are one of the most splendid sights in the world

  9. Each year many people visit Niagara Falls from either the American side or the Canadian side. A boat called Maid of the Mistwill take you right out to the Falls.

  10. Yellowstone, the First Natinal Park Americans have tried to save many of the most beautiful wild areas of the US. There are more than three hundred National Parks, National seashores.

  11. In Yellowstone you can see many different animals and birds. Animals at Yellowstone include grizzly bears and black bears, buffalo, elk, deer, antelope coyotes and lynxes.
