PBX Software • Call Scenario (analog) • Circuit pack monitor port for change of state • Sense off hook (loop closure for analog loop start) • Dialtone applied to port • Listens for tones (digits, *, #) • Digits collected and sent to processor via timeslot on backplane/bus • Processor looks at dialplan and routing tables • If digits dialed matches on-net extension in dialplan then processor checks extension/port database • If it finds match then it looks at port location • Processor sends message through Proc. Int. Card to Network Control Card to reserve timeslot on bus/backplane • Processor then sends message via timeslot on backplane/bus to port circuit packs to send ringing voltage down ports • When port circuit pack senses off hook on called stations port, timeslot that was reserved is cut through to both ports • Port circuit packs monitor ports for disconnect • When on hook is sensed port sends message to processor via bus to free up timeslot on bus • Processor sends message via Proc. Int. Card to Network Control Card to free up timeslot on bus • Same process if call if off net except trunk port is utilized and digits are outpulsed via Tone card to far end switch
