  2. 19.discerned • dih-sur, -zurn • verb • To perceive by sight, some other sense, or intellect • I discerned a car in the distance. She discerned something rise over the horizon. I discerned the whole event.

  3. 20.disarming • dis-ahr-ming • adjective • Removing or capable of removing hostility, suspicion, etc. as by being charming • All of my anger went away when I saw his disarming face. Why must the enemy be so disarming? She was so disarming, I couldn’t help but forgive her.

  4. 21.menacing • men-is-ing • noun • Something that threatens to cause evil, harm, injury, etc. • The monster was quite menacing. I thought that the animal was menacing. In the movie the criminal was very menacing.

  5. 22.aristocrat • uh-ris-tuh-krat • Noun • A person who has the tastes, manners, ect., characteristics of a member of an aristocracy • He has the manners of an aristocrat. An aristocrat is well mannered. The aristocrat is quite the gentleman.

  6. 23.cossack • kos-ak • noun • A person who belonged to a group of slavs in the southern part of Russia • I am sure I’m not the only one who has never herd of a Cossack till now. Cossacks were mainly in southern Russia. She was watching a documentary about Cossacks
