Fire Data Evaluation Report _______________________________________________________________________ • Jan. 22, 2013: Dr. Stark recommended a Vertical Barrier Wall be built between the neck and the North Quarry. • Thalhammer re-recommends to build the wall within the next 60 days (June 17, 2013). Republic’s Contingency Plan _______________________________________________________________________ • If the fire reaches Trigger 3, halfway into the North Quarry, Republic intends to dig an isolation barrier inside of OU-1.
Isolation Barrier Placement The isolation barrier “should completely isolate potentially combustible materials between the Bridgeton Landfill and Operable Unit 1.”(Thalhammer, 26) The contingency plan suggests cutting the isolation barrier INSIDE of OU-1, the location of the wastes.
