The Jaguar XJ is one of those vehicles. History The first XJ was created in 1968 and came with either a 2.8 litre or a 4.2 litre diesel engine. It was the ultimate in refinement in its day; a luxurious car with enormous power and an exceptionally effective braking system. An improvement to this vehicle was launched in 1972 when the car was made in a long wheel based version, making it the perfect passenger carrying vehicle.
