PASA Protocol Language Homework assignment from TPTF to reconcile requirements of PUCT Rulemaking Project 31972 to nodal protocols, specifically addressing system adequacy reporting. PUCT Rule 25.505 (c) requires: • Publication of Statement of Opportunity (SOO), which represents the 5 and 10 year planning studies performed by ERCOT assessing “a projection of the capability of existing and planned electric generation resources, load resources, and transmission facilities to reliably meet ERCOT’s projected needs.” • This requirement is being added to the draft NPRR as described in the rule. http://nodal.ercot.com 2
PASA Protocol Language Rule 25.505 (d) requires: • Publication of two Projected Assessment of System Adequacy (PASA) reports. • Medium-Term PASA- weekly adequacy data for next 3 years • Short-Term PASA- daily adequacy for next 7 days • Rule language describes adequacy data below: • “Load forecast by ERCOT zone or area” • “Ancillary service requirements” • “Transmission constraints” • “Aggregated information on the availability of resources, by ERCOT zone or area, including load resources” • Draft NPRR considers a combination of current protocols and rulemaking language as described on next 2 slides. http://nodal.ercot.com 3
