Most Primitive ANIMALIA PLANTEA FUNGI PROTIST EUBACTERIA Least Primitive ARCHAEBACTERIA
Archaebacteria • Unicellular • Archaebacteria means “Ancient Bacteria” • Existed before before the dinosaurs came • Can be either autotrophic or heterotrophic Archaebacteria are Prokaryotes Prokaryotes- organisms whose cells lack a nucleus • Where do they live? • On the ocean floor • Hot springs • Or inside you!!!!!!!!!!! HOT SPRING Archaebacteria lives in extreme environment.
Eubacteria • Unicellular (single-celled) • Prokaryote • Autotrophs or heterotrophs Living Places Is Eubacteria Useful? • no extreme environments • everywhere on the earth! • YES! • Keep some of Earth’s physical conditions • Help other organisms to survive. • Autotrophic Eubacterias keep Earth’s current level of oxygen (20%)
Protists • Unicelluar either multicelluar • Autotrophs either heterotrops • Eukaryotes (living things containing nuclei) • “Odds and Ends” kingdom- organisms are very different from one another. • Seaweed • multicelluar • Chlamydomona • unicellular
Fungi Some examples of fungi are… • MOST fungi are multicellular eukaryotes (with the exception of yeast which is unicellular) • All Fungi are heterotrophs • Most fungi feed on dead or decaying organisms Mushrooms Molds Mildew AND
Plants • All plants are multicellular eurkaryotes • Plants are Autotrophs that make their own food • NO PLANTS= NO LIFE ON EARTH!!!!! • Why? Because plants feed almost all of the heterotrophs on Earth Some familiar plants are… Dandelions Mosses in the forest Tomatoes A N D
Animals • All animals are multicellular eukaryotes • All animals are heterotrophs • Animals have different adapatations that allow them to locate food, capture it, and digest it • Found all over the world in different enviroments A few animals are… Dogs (or puppies) Tigers Narwhals!!! A N D
