6. Visitation/ Volunteering To Volunteer, you must fill out the criminal background check at http://www.lisd.net/ Regardless of when you last did this, do it again. They expire after 3 years, and many are expiring now. To visit, every time, you must bring your drivers license for an immediate “Raptor” check.

7. BYOT • “Bring Your Own Technology.” • Students may bring their personal laptops, iPads, iPods, phones and other handheld devices for learning at school.

8. Key words… FILTER and MONITOR • A word of caution: make sure whatever you decide has a high quality content filter. There are several programs that make the internet family friendly, but there is no substitute for parent monitoring of internet access.

9. Bring at Your Own Risk • Finally, remember to only send technology that you could live without. All technology brought to school is at risk for being dropped in a mud puddle or lost!

10. Morning Arrival • Car riders are dropped off on the Ridgeland side of the school (see map) • Unless you are parking and have business in the school, do not use the loop in front of the office. For safety, this is for busses only.

12. Walking Your Student to Class • After the first week of school, students will be walking independently to class. • If during the first week you walk your child to class, please remember this is not an appropriate time for parent/teacher conferences. • On the first day, teachers will be in their classroom. After dropping off your child in the classroom, please join us in the cafeteria for the Boo Hoo/ Yahoo breakfast. • Starting the second day, students will need to report to the gym if they arrive before 7:40 a.m. At that time, K, 1, and 2 teachers will take the entire class to the classroom. You are welcome to join them as they go. Starting the second week, K, 1, and 2 students should report to the gym on their own in the morning.

13. Visitors at Lunch • September 3rd, the cafeteria will be open for visitors. • You need to scan your license in the office before lunch. • While dining with your child remain at the guest table with your child. • Guests may only dine with their child. • All students enter and exit the cafeteria with their grade level. • Guests and students at the guest table are to follow all cafeteria procedures. • The final 5 minutes of lunch is a silent time for all.
