  3. Local Share Gaming Funds The Gaming Act requires casinos to share their gaming revenues with host counties and municipalities The Gaming Act’s local share requirements vary by type and location of casino Table game-based local share has separate requirements for distribution

  4. Local Share Gaming Funds Annual local share from Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse • County Share = 2% of Gross Revenues • Municipal Share = 2% of Gross Revenues or $10 million whichever is greater 50% of local share funds are dedicated for grants

Dauphin County GamingAdvisory Board Mission: Advise the Dauphin County Commissioners on the allocation of municipal grants from local share gaming monies Grants are to fund the costs of: Human Services Infrastructure and Facilities Improvement Transportation Emergency Services, Health and Public Safety Public Interest Initiatives

  6. Dauphin County GamingAdvisory Board We received 43 project applications totaling $19,095,586.14 Like last year, grant requests were nearly 3x the amount of available grant funds

  7. Eligible Applicants • East Hanover Township • Contiguous municipalities (Derry, Middle Paxton, Rush, South Hanover and West Hanover Townships) • Dauphin County

  9. Local Share Grant Principles Priority given to infrastructure projects Inter-Governmental projects & projects that leverage outside investment in Dauphin County were favored

Dauphin County Gaming Advisory Board 2010 Funding Recommendations The GAB recommends a total of $6,927,000.00 in grants to the Dauphin County Commissioners 43.3% ($3,000,000) are for East Hanover. This fulfills the MOU between the Commissioners and the Township 19.4% ($1,345,000) are for contiguous townships Overall: Infrastructure and Facilities Improvement $ 966,000 (14%) Transportation $ 2,760,000 (40%) EMS, Health and Public Safety $ 2,636,000 (38%) Public Interest Initiatives $ 565,000 (8%)

Dauphin County Gaming Advisory Board 2010 Funding Recommendations Assuming available funds, the GAB recommends that the Commissioners fund the remaining applications through the Whitaker Center • All are worthy projects that promote the public interest • The applications include the final phase of a previously approved project • The projects will leverage significant additional investment in Dauphin County The expanded recommendations total $8,457,000 in grants

Dauphin County Gaming Advisory Board 2010 Funding Recommendations Recommended projects will leverage substantial additional investment in Dauphin County • $38,608,702 additional investment related to recommended projects • $5,701,025 in additional investment if projects are funded through Whitaker Ctr. Application (for a total of $44,309,727)
