Movement of Goods The goods we buy come from almost all over the world. Just look on the tag or label of a product and you will see “made in.” The reasons for this is because many goods can be made oversees for cheaper prices which make the cost of the good go down.
Outsourcing A number of companies have outsourced their factories to other countries in order to have cheaper labor cost for their product. This makes the cost of the product go down, but it causes jobs in America to be lost to other countries. This is called outsourcing
Buying America • There are some people who will only buy products made in America to prove a point. (Music Artist even have songs referring to this topic) • got the red, white, and blue flyin' high on the farm • semper fi tattooed on his left arm • spends a little more at the store for a tag in the back that says u.s.a. • won't buy nothin' that he can't fix, • with wd40 and a craftsman wrench • he ain't prejudice he's just, made in america
Travel Depending on where the good is from, makes the travel of the good unique. The product could only have to travel a short way across land or a long way across the ocean.
NAFTA North American Free Trade Agreement An agreement between Canada, United States, and Mexico This agreement lifted most trade barriers between the 3 nations in order to help the economy of all three.
European Union Was created after WWIIand now has 27 members Was designed to help economic cooperation by removing trade barriers and developing a common currency (euro)
