  5. We’re Enriched v. 5 • God “enriches” saints to help them wait for the return of His Son • “In all speech (utterance)” • We speak words of thanks Eph 5:4 • We speak words of encouragement Heb 3:13-14

  6. We’re Enriched v. 5 • God “enriches” saints to help them wait for the return of His Son • “In all knowledge” • The understanding of His will • Something in which we need to grow 2 Pet 3:18

  7. We’re To Be Blameless v. 8 • A challenge!! Rom 3:23 1 Jn 1:8 • “That which cannot be called into account, as in the Day of Judgment”Eph 5:26-27 • All are in need of God’s “confirmation” 2 Tim 2:19

  8. We’re To Be Blameless v. 8 • All are in need of God’s “confirmation” 2 Tim 2:19 • “To establish or make sure; steadfast” • It is to be “to the end” or waiting all the way through Heb 12:1-2 Phil 3:12-15

  9. We’re To Be In Fellowship v. 9 • A joint association; a partnership or participation with others • Partners with God 1 Jn 1:3, 6-7 2 Jn 9 • Our “commonality with Christ” refers to our acceptance of His will (walking in His light)

  10. We’re To Be United v. 10 • Being with someone (a “partner”) doesn’t necessarily mean we’re “united” • A group awaiting the same thing can be overrun with selfishnessvv. 11-17 • This cannot be allowed to happen with disciples of Christ

  11. We’re To Be United v. 10 • The challenge of having & maintaining “unity” is communication • There can be no divisions • We must all “speak the same thing” • We discourage party divisions • We mature in mind & judgment

  12. Some Concluding Thoughts… • Emphasis is not just that we “wait”…we must “eagerly wait” v. 7 • A wait with anticipation, excitement • A wait absent of drudgery, indifference • If “waiting” is boring, problematic... the fault is ours, not God’s

  13. Some Concluding Thoughts… • What kind of “waiter” are you?? • Impatient? – You could grow weary & give up • Eager? – You are busy with what He has provided you while Christ delays • It takes faith & determination to “wait” for Christ to come back
