    6. KPMG Europe for our people How will this affect our people: Increased mobility opportunities Your networks will increase and become pan European Your colleagues will be drawn from increasingly diverse backgrounds Recognising cultural differences and working through language limitations will become a part of how you operate A One Firm & International mindset will be necessary You’ll attend cross-Functional and cross-European training courses Our people are our most important resource and help us differentiate ourselves. The increasing international focus of our work, combined with the planned above-market growth, will provide significant career opportunities and challenges. Note the plan for a graduate recruitment exchange programme starting in September 2007. This has generated a high level of interest and has helped our graduate marketing by differentiating ourselves from the other firms. Note the reference to the European Audit Response Team. In the UK the ART has been successful in its first year in offering people a variety of work, with 100 people currently seconded from the ART into TS and 25 to other advisory areas. The intention is to establish the best way of rolling this out for KPMG Europe. Our people are our most important resource and help us differentiate ourselves. 7. Mobility Global Mobility Our global mobility programme is growing and 2006 saw some 350 people undertake international secondments, a key priority is to increase mobility levels further As KPMG’s clients continue to invest in emerging markets, there is a growing need for KPMG professionals to gain international skills and experience We see our Global Mobility as a vehicle to help develop a breadth and depth of talent – from lead partner to staff – who are comfortable working in different cultures with various clients Benefits of Mobility: KPMG International’s member firms have a longstanding tradition of encouraging their professionals to undertake international assignments. As KPMG’s clients continue to invest in emerging markets, there is a growing need for KPMG professionals to gain international skills and experience, reflecting our commitment to ensure that our member firms’ professionals have the global perspective necessary to successfully serve multinational clients. The purpose of KPMG’s Global Mobility program is to help our people in all member firms develop and enhance their careers, as part of KPMG International’s journey to becoming an Employer of Choice. Moreover, international experience is an asset that is vital to serve Global Accounts. More importantly, we see our “enhanced” Global Mobility program as a vehicle to help develop a breadth and depth of talent – from lead partner to staff – who are comfortable working in different cultures with various clients.KPMG International’s member firms have a longstanding tradition of encouraging their professionals to undertake international assignments.
