VLBI2010 MCI Status update • Wettzell developing [monitor] scheduling software • Wettzell scheduler has only been developed for Linux and no development for Windows is anticipated. Note: scheduler software is not IDL2RPC but rather incorporates IDL2RPC • If a station incorporates the Wz scheduler both Windows and Linux systems will be needed at each node if a particular sensor/device only possesses Windows drivers • An alternative is to abandon Windows and adopt architecture based on Arduino • Only 1 Linux PC per node • Open source • Very robust and expandable • C program USB interface has been developed for Linux • Analyst input to MCI will be solicited at the IVS Analysis Workshop in March
12m MCI Status Update • Adopting node-based architecture • Frontend • Control Room • Antenna • Time Frequency • Auxiliary • Comprehensive spreadsheet has been developed to identify all of our MCI needs • Input from others is sought on other MCI requirements • Frontend sensors/controls have been identified to realize front-end node MCI • Next step, develop design schematics and build hardware • Implemented IDL2RPC on Linux for UDC control at Westford from Haystack • 512 MHz Noise Adding Radiometer • Driven by RDBE 10-100Hz diode drive signal • Synchronized on the 1PPS signal
