The FAASTeam’s Mission is To improve the Nation's aviation safety record by conveying safety principles and practices through training, outreach, and education. At the same time, FAASTeam Managers and Program Managers will establish meaningful aviation industry alliances and encourage continual growth of a positive safety culture within the aviation community.

Topic #2 WINGS What is WINGS? • A formal, recurrent training program for pilots • Continuing knowledge and flight training • Administered online
Topic #2 WINGS If you participated in the old WINGS program, this is different No longer an AWARD program – based on proficiency No longer required 3 hours of flight – based on proficiency Not the same program for every pilot – based on the pilot’s profile. Not an award
Topic #2 WINGS New WINGS is 3 phases - rather than the old 20 phases Earn all 3 phases each year - rather than the old 1 phase each year Encourages ongoing training, a little each month - rather than the old get it done in one day WINGS activities are credited and shown to help pilots stay motivated to doing a little training each month.
