Why ? 3- How many sources of energy are mentioned in the text? 4- Which one do you think is the most potential energy of all the alternative sources of energy?

  9. Answers: • Our major source of energy is fossil fuels (oil, coal, natural gas). • Yes, It is limited. Because our demand is increasing very quickly and fossil fuels will be exhausted within a relative short time. • They are fossil fuels, nuclear energy, geothermal heat, solar energy, wind power, water power. • I think solar energy is the most potential energy of all the alternative sources of energy.

  10. Task 2: Table completion unlimited very dangerous plentiful, infinite, clean, safe possible in the day time clean and unlimited expensive clean and unlimited No wind => no energy available Possible

  11. Task 3: Gap - filing Complete the summary of the reading passage by filling each blank with a suitable word. We need energy to live and work. Our major source of energy comes from (1)________. All of them have advantages and disadvantages.

  12. The advantage of solar energy is that it is not only plentiful and (8)________ but also clean and safe. Geothermal heat and nuclear power are (9)_________ sources of energy. They give us electricity. Besides they are (10)________. Answers: 1. fossil fuels 6. wind energy 2. coal 7. heat 3. natural gas 8. infinite 4. new 9. alternative 5. nuclear energy 10. dangerous
