  14. Roman Language • Latin, the language of the Roman’s, continued after the fall of the Roman Empire. • Latin has 23 letters, whereas English has 26. • Our calendar comes from the one adopted by the Roman ruler, Julius Caesar. • August honors Caesar Augustus.
