FP Success: Project History • One year Web-based activity • Developed for program managers worldwide to: • Learn about evidence-based family planning information • Share successes and lessons learned • Network with people around the world • Solve problems, bounce ideas off each other Ultimately, help create a better program.
Survey: Users “Pull” Information • Collected wisdom of practiced program managers steers the project • December 2007 survey listed 14 elements including “Integration with related health services,” “mix of service delivery points” and “up-to-date service guidelines” • Respondents could select 3 or enter a 15th factor • Over 445 health care professionals from 98 countries responded
Survey Says… • 41% said well-trained, supervised and motivated staff was #1 most important element of FP success • 30% said effective communications and outreach strategy • Top-ranked elements were also rated the most difficult to achieve
IBP Forum, Dec. 10-21, 2007 • Catherine Richey, MPH, Senior Technical Writer at the INFO Project, facilitated the forum • 280 health care professionals in 63 countries joined the forum • Top countries represented included the United States (80), India (28), Kenya (12), Ghana (12), Ethiopia (11)

FP Success: Letting Program People Be Social • Designed to take advantage of new web tools available--including social networking tools. • Not just a static site where people can go to find information • Log on to collaborate, share ideas and interact with others.
FP Success: Next Steps • Repurposing content: Web-to-print • Combining members’ lessons learned and experiences with the evidence-based information and research conducted. • Putting up synthesis on Web site and subsequently in a print Population Reports issue.
