Study skills for math success - CG111 Dates Fridays, October 07, 2016 to Friday, November 04, 2016, 10am-11:50am Description Provides students information, techniques, strategies and skills helpful in becoming more efficient in time management, studying, listening, note taking, exams, and stress reduction; addresses basic principles of psychology of learning and assists in creating positive tools towards successful math completion. • Credit – 1 Fees - $5 • Tuition - $99 Text – About $30
Homework format • Heading - upper right corner • Name • Math63 • Text Section Number • List of Problems Assigned • Use the margin for numbering • Don’t crowd your work • Top down approach is required • Two columns, front and back, ok
Grading structure • Homework 15% • Activities 15% • Tests 70% • 100% Grades are posted on Blackboard
What does it take? • You must earn a minimum of 70% overall in order to pass the class. • This class is a pass/no pass; however a letter grade and average score will be recorded.
Policies & Procedures • No tardies • Cell phones – off Texting – you’re out • Late homework not accepted • Activities - no make ups • Makeup Tests, 20% deduction
Ground rules • Pencil only • No circling answers • No underlining of answers • No arrows or notes • No highlighting • No paper with fringes
