  1. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 “He is a Prophet” What Do You Know For Sure?

  2. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 “He is a Prophet” The problem of keeping the Sabbath Making clay is working on the Sabbath Healing on the Sabbath was forbidden “As to fasting spittle, it is not lawful to put it so much as upon the eyelids” Jesus broke man-made laws, not God’s They were willing to kill Jesus for breaking the Sabbath

  3. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 “He is a Prophet” The blind man sharpened his testimony “also” tells us he is telling his story again This is like a cross examination His language is terse He shortens the story from verse 11 Our testimony should shorten and sharpen in adversity

  4. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 “He is a Prophet” Our testimony brings growth in perception There was a division in the response to his testimony They now ask the blind man for his opinion The blind man is growing in his faith The Pharisees are in total denial

  5. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 “He is a Prophet” Be bold like the blind man Conflict will come God will not abandon you in that conflict Opposition will sharpen your testimony and lead you into a deeper understanding of the Gospel Therefore, we should be bold in our testimony

  6. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 What Do You Know For Sure? The parents “Is this your son?” – stop lying The truth – he is our blind son who now sees They do not know how or by whom he was healed – really? They now deflect to their son Because they “feared the Jews”

  7. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 What Do You Know For Sure? The Pharisees They know that Jesus is a sinner They know that God had spoken to Moses They claimed not to know Christ’s origins They contradict themselves – John 7:27 They wanted to be in the know, but they were not willing to commit

  8. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 What Do You Know For Sure? The man born blind He acknowledged that he did not know all He freely shared what he did know What he knew, he truly knew

  9. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 What Do You Know For Sure? What makes the man born blind different? He began with his limitations in knowledge – he was humble – Job 11:7, 1 Cor. 2:14 He recognized the absence of knowledge in others – “Now that is remarkable” He was left with what he truly did know, which eliminated the fringe areas What he truly knew was the basis to learn more

  10. We Know That We KnowJohn 9:13-33 Application Proverbs 4:18 – The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. Are you humble and honest enough with yourself to allow God to grow you up in Him? Do you recognize that what you know about God comes from Him and what you do not know can only come from yielding to Him through the Holy Spirit and His Word?
