The person at the front desk will record the package in their journal. • Applicant: Ask the front desk to date stamp Package 2. You keep this copy. It is your backup proving that the application was turned in, in case the application is ever lost. • Council check: Upon receipt of the Eagle Application the Council will verify that all information is provided, and that the data and information on the application match the Council’s records. You will be contacted if there are problems. If accepted as complete, the application will be forwarded to the District Advancement Chairman to schedule the Board of Review.

  16. Board of Review • District Advancement Chairman will schedule the Board of Review once the Council has accepted the application and the letters of recommendation are received. Call the District Advancement Chairman if you have not been contacted within 3 weeks. Contact information is on this link: http://www.seattlebsa.org/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=657 • Cascade District - Boards of Review are held twice a month at Bellevue City Hall. Link with directions: http://www.seattlebsa.org/Cascade-District/Eagle-Scout-Board-of-Review • Scout must invite 2 people that know you to serve on the Board of Review. Scout arranges for their participation as soon as the Board of Review is scheduled. Cannot be a family member or Scoutmaster. A District representative will run the Board of Review with the two individuals that know you. No preparation is needed by the individuals.

  17. Board of Review (cont.) •  Board of Review Day: • Contact the 2 people that will sit on your board, and remind them that today is the day. • Arrive 15 minutes early. • Dress in full uniform: shirt, merit badge sash, belt, and pants. • Bring camera • Bring your Eagle Project Workbook •  Board of Review • Parents will stay outside, but are invited inside the Boardroom for the decision. • The board will ask about your Eagle project and Scouting career. It is a discussion about your leadership and future plans. • Plan on the board of review lasting 60 minutes. • Take photos after your Board of Review. • If you pass, each member of your Eagle Board will sign the Eagle Application, and the signed application will be returned to you. • Email or call your Scoutmaster with the news.

  18. Board of Review (cont.) • Next day: • Make a new copy of the signed Eagle Application • Return the signed Eagle Application to the Scout Office • Have the Scout Office date stamp receipt of the copy of your signed Eagle Application. Again this is your proof that the signed application has been returned. • National Review: The Council transmits the signed Eagle Application to National for another review to ensure that the application is complete. About 30 days after turning the signed application into the Scout office, you and your Scoutmaster will receive a letter from National indicating that your application accepted. At this point you are an Eagle Scout. • A couple weeks after receiving the letter you can go to the Scout Office to pick up the Eagle Certificate, patch and medal.

  19. Court of Honor • Scout: Plan your Court of Honor (COH) once National has sent a letter indicating that the application is accepted. • There are lots of Eagle COH scripts on the Internet. • Send letters to request congratulations letters from list of government, business and community leaders. • Consider the timing for COH so that as many family, friends, adult leaders and fellow scouts as possible can attend. • Consider an appropriate venue – Community Center, VFW, Church, etc. • Consider whether you prefer a COH for just yourself or with other recent Eagle Scouts. • Think about all of the adults, leaders and scouts who helped you achieve this important milestone and acknowledge their help in the program.
