Phase II…. Briefly • Phase I – 2004- 2009 Feb • Was developed to deepen and orient activities of Phase I • Improve performance of duty bearers • Empower claim holders
Overall strategy of the project.. • Address trust and confidence building –through rule of law / A2J • Seek to address causes of injustice through HRBA • gender equality • peaceful conflict resolution • mediation • Develop a cadre of resource persons on HRBA • Ensure sequenced and balanced approach to provide timely responses
IDENTIFIED - MOST VULNERABLE GROUPS For example: • Conflict affected people living in the North and East • Internally displaced persons (IDPs) • Families of disappeared/abducted persons • Female headed households (FHH) • Prisoners, Pre trial detainees and those in police custody • Estate sector workers • Victims of gender based violence
IDENTIFIED AREAS WHERE THERE IS A CONCENTRATION OF - VULNERABLE GROUPS • Focus on people – taking a demand driven approach • Northern province • Eastern province • Estate sectors • And other geographical locations with concentration of vulnerable groups
