Grant Information • Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the State and the Department of Economic Development • LSU National Center for Security Research and Training • Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness
Purpose • Seek out opportunities in Louisiana to create economic development • Make Louisiana more competitive for federal homeland security projects related to disaster preparedness, response, and bioterrorism research
Goals • Seek out opportunities to create economic growth in Louisiana based on Homeland Security in order to help drive the state’s economy • Help “spin-off” new companies and create new jobs for the citizens of Louisiana
State Inventory List • Programs and individuals within Louisiana with an interest in areas related to: • Chemical & Bioterrorism research • Training, equipping, research, and support infrastructure for emergency responders
Comprehensive State-Wide Tour • Hold Homeland Security meetings throughout the state • Meet with all interested college or university leaders, government officials, and business leaders • Explain the state’s goals and their implementation throughout the state
Inventory Database • Develop an inventory database that will be accessible online • Stimulate grant utilization in the areas related to emergency responder operations and chemical and bioterrorism research
Louisiana Bio-Terrorism Emergency Preparedness Conference • The National Center for Security Research and Training (NCSRT) will host the 1st annual statewide Louisiana Bio-Terrorism Emergency Preparedness Conference for emergency responders, public health and medical personnel • The Conference will be held early next year
