Emergency Response • In the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) Overall Emergency Operations Plan, LDWF is the lead agency for Emergency Support Function 9…SAR. • Agencies in support of LDWF are: • Louisiana National Guard • Agriculture and Forestry • Corrections • Culture, Recreation and Tourism (State Parks) • Louisiana State Police • Transportation and Development • LSU FETI • Fire Marshall • Alcohol/Tobacco Control

  3. The primary players in SAR missions are LDWF, Louisiana National Guard (Air and Brigade) and the United States Coast Guard. These players are supported by FEMA USAR Teams. Assets we bring to the fight: Trained Personnel 4X4 Vehicles, Boats, Helicopters, and High Water Transport Vehicles The Players and Assets

Concept of Operations and Basic Plan for Hurricanes • Withdraw and protect equipment and personnel • Stage/Hunker Down for storm passage • Assessment Flights; Reconnaissance; Reports from affected parishes • Roll Forward/Road March • Establish Forward Command/First Responders • Search and Rescue/ Collection Points/ Medical Facilities/Shelters • Secondary Searches
