DS-Lite DHCP option:timeline • -04 document was in IESG review • Question raised about necessity to define bothIP address & FQDN options • After discussion, authors created -05 draft withonly IP option defined • More discussion and more comments fromDHC wg chair • Wg participants requested maintain of FQDN option • DHC wg chair saying: define one or the other, not both • Operators explained operational need for a level of indirection that is provided by distributed DNS resolution

  6. DS-Lite DHCP option:proposed resolution • Ask draft authors to republish a -06 document defining only FQDN option • Start a 2 week wg last call • Resend to IESG
