The rubric reflects the most important elements for writing a compelling proposal. The proposal must clearly state the process you will follow to produce a finished product, or “deliverable”. Make sure to follow the rubric as you prepare your proposal.

  9. 3. Requests for assigned time are for “Fall 2015 or Spring 2016 semester”. Detailed justification is needed. Be very specific as to your activities and how they fit into a plan for project completion. 4. Budgets must be itemized, detailed, and justified. Include estimated research costs and sources to support these costs.

  10. 5. Be detailed and specific about the nature of student involvement (How did you calculate # of hours and pay scale?) Be specific, how does their involvement promote your professional development? (Funds are not intended to solely support student research) 6. Tie attending professional conferences to tangible outcomes. If you are not presenting then list compelling tangible outcomes.

  11. 7. If you are asking for funding to increase your knowledge base, or need to pay to develop skills to support a project, explain how knowledge or skills gained will remain with the university. 8. Tell us if you will receive or have applied for funding from other sources.
