He says that gods made by human hands are no gods at all. 27 There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited; and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty.”  28 When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting: “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” 29 Soon the whole city was in an uproar.   17. Authentein – what does it mean? • To begin something • To be primarily responsible for a condition or action (especially Murder) • To dominate • To usurp power or rights from another • To claim ownership or authorship

So what should it say? ‘I do not permit a woman to teach that she is the originator of man but she is to be in conformity [with the scriptures].’ OR ‘I absolutely do not allow a woman to teach [someone] to maintain that she is the author of a man.’ OR ‘I do not allow a woman to teach or proclaim herself author of man’.

  19. The penny drops… ‘Is there any other major doctrine in the Bible which depends on only one verse?’ ‘And is it true that the understanding of this verse is dependent on the translation of just one verb which is used only once in the entire New testament?’
