  2. Today’s plan • Greeting • Review Asg #71: Ch. 10 AR, Part II (p. 426): • 1-25 odd. • Lesson: Similar Triangles & Geometric Growth • Homework / Questions • Clean-up

  3. Geometric Growth • Make a right triangle like this on a blank sheet of paper:

  4. Geometric Growth • Extend AC to the right, across your page.

  5. Geometric Growth • At B, make a 90° angle back down towards AC. • Extend the angle’s side so it intersects AC.

  6. Geometric Growth • At that intersection (D) draw a ray upwards, perpendicular to AC.

  7. Geometric Growth • Extend AB to meet that perpendicular: If you keep doing this – going down to AD then upwards, perpendicular to AD – – then how many triangles could you fit on one page?

  8. Geometric Growth • Continue this process of making perpendiculars, extending AB and AC as needed, ‘til you run out of paper.
