Can Recyclingin the School Kitchens Starting May 4th schools will no longer be sending aluminum cans to the Central Kitchen to recycle. Your school will be recycling the cans on-site.
Steps to Successful Recycling • Monday May 2nd or Tuesday May 3rd your school will receive a recycling tower to use for recycling at your site. The towers will be delivered with your food truck.
Step 1 • Be sure to rinse out the cans. • Take the top and bottom off the can before recycling. • You can leave the labels on the cans.
Step 2 • Place the can on the floor. • Be sure to hang on to something.
Step 3 • Once the top and bottom lids are off the cans, they are easy to flatten. • Stand on the can to flatten it.
Step 4 • Place the top and bottom lids inside the can before putting them into the recycling tower.
Step 5 • Place the cans inside the recycling tower. • The custodians will empty the tower daily and provide the bags needed for the tower.
Please remember that once you receive your tower you will no longer send cans back to the Central Kitchen. • Thanks for doing your part to be green!
