Star Party Report • Star Party 8 November 2013 by 60 ft dish - 6 pm - 10:30 pm • Very well attended • ~50? folks - all ages, but lots of kids • cub scout den • Four scopes set up • Club -> Meade 16" Dob; Stellarvue 102 mm • Pers -> Celestron130 mm Newtonian and 6" SCT; 7 x 35 binocs • Heavenly bodies observed • Moon (near first quarter), Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter • M57 (ring), M31 (andromeda and companion), M13 and M15 Globs, NGC 869 (double cluster), eta cas double, Orion nebula... • Conditions • Good except for Bldg 21 parking lot lights and a bright motion-activated light at entrance to Bldg 23

Star Party Report (cont'd) • Thanks to: • Mark Kochte, Christine Krider, Helen Hart, and Dave Gresham for arrangements • Uday Shankar, Frank Morgan, Ryan McMichael, Dan Smith, and Dave Tillman for manning telescopes • Special thanks to Dawn Turney for bringing hot chocolate  • Visitors were very happy with Moon views, 50% phase Venus, and many other sights

  6. FY 14 Budget Request

Equipment Check-out In order to minimize the chance of misplacing club equipment, the club will begin using the new equipment check-out form and the associated procedure for borrowing club equipment. Equipment room key-holders will need to sign off on check-outs and “parking lot” exchanges. Current key-holders: Steve Conard Dan Smith Helen Hart Mark Kochte
