Project Details: • Year of Inclusion : 1997-98 • Total length.(Assam) :73 km including 5 km of bridge • Anticipated cost :Rs.4997 crore • Expenditure upto 31-03-2013 :Rs.2701 crore • Fund allocation in FY 2013-14 :Rs.440crore • Additional fund requirement in 2013-14 :Rs 240 crore(For planned TDC) • Target date of completion :December’15 • (Subject toavailability of Fund) • December-17 • (With present funding level) • Overall Progress(Financial) :54%

Time over Run factors: • Due to Change in rivercourse and flash flood, total length of bridge increased from 36nos. of spans to 41 spans. • land availability: i.Upto 50% after 2yrs (2004) • ii.Upto 75% after 10yrs (2008) • iii.Upto 100%, after 14yrs (2011) • Thus, after 14yrs, Total land could be made available by State Govt. • Fund Availability: • i.1997-98 to 2003-04 : 162.02Crs @av 23crs per yr • ii.2003-04 to 2007-08: 681crs @av 227crs per yr • iii.2007-08 to 2012-13 : 1731crs @av 346crs per yr • Thus, after 15yrs, only 51% budget grant allotted since inception of the project in 1997-98

Assistance required - • Additional Fund of Rs 645crs is required in 2013-14 to complete the project as per planned TDC. • 4. Issue of Concern- • Work is affected in approx. 28 Km length of the section due to land problems. • Land Acquisition process lapsed due to public representation for higher compensation. • Fresh Land acquisition process has been initiated for which U/S 4(1) and 6(1) has been done and estimate is under sanction of State Govt. • State Govt. should expedite the handing over of land to Railway for early commissioning of the section.
