  2. 1. Know what you are looking for • Read the checklist • Read the book • Look up unfamiliar terms • Be prepared to collect at all times….

  3. 2. Look for horses, not zebras Weeds and common plants have most of the items found on the checklist.

  4. 3. You may take up to 3 pictures • You may buy fruit, but its wiser to just take a picture. • You must appear in the picture. • No pics taken from the internet

  5. 4. Respect the law Do not collect plants that are: • On private property • In state or national parks • On state or interstate highways ** It is NOT illegal to pick bluebonnets

  6. 5. Don’t Procrastinate This assignment cannot be done in one day. • Commit at least 2 days per week to collect and identify plants • Bring your plants AND your checklist in throughout the time period • Pick a partner who will work • Carry a ziplock bag with you at all times
