“The LORD said to Moses, ‘Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'These are my appointed feasts, the appointed feasts of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies." 'There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. In Joshua 11, Joshua was faced with something far more terrifying than the 5-king coalition in Joshua 10.
“When Jabin king of Hazor heard of this, he sent word to Jobab king of Madon, to the kings of Shimron and Acshaph, and to the northern kings who were in the mountains, in the Arabah south of Kinnereth, in the western foothills and in NaphothDor on the west; to the Canaanites in the east and west; to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites and Jebusites in the hill country; and to the Hivites below Hermon in the region of Mizpah. They came out with all their troops and a large number of horses and chariots— a huge army, as numerous as the sand on the seashore. All these kings joined forces and made camp together at the Waters of Merom, to fight against Israel. - Joshua 11:1-5
Life’s greatest battles often come in the shadows of success.
What gave Joshua the courage ? God promised Joshua in verse 6 that God will give them the victory, and Joshua remembered all the past miraculous victories God had already given them, so he had the faith to trust in God’s faithfulness.
