Maturity • Most say that telling the age of a Mexican walking fish is a challenge. • They begin life like a tadpole. • Even as adults they look like tadpoles • They never grow out of the larvae stage • They never get to adapt to the land
COLOR • They can be many different colors • Most times when you look at a group of Mexican walking fish it looks like a rainbow. • Pale pink • Gold • Close to any shade of gray • Brown • Black • Albino or cream • Can be multicolor called piebald and harlequin

Habitat • In Mexican on the water way • Native to fresh water lakes • Murky • 14-18 degrees Celsius.
Endanger species • They are close to extinction • Scientists estimate that there used to be more than 1,500 each square mile, now less than 25. • Due to the detraction and human invading of the lakes they are close to extinction
Diet • They are carnivores • Eats • Small creatures • Insects • Worms • Small fish • Live bate • Bloodworms • Wax worms • Earthworms • Trout • Salomon pellets

Breeding • Family: mole salamanders • Exhibits a trait known as noetony • Neotony: means it attain sexual maturity • The process metamorphosis(failure) • The lack of thyroid stimulating • hormone, needed for the metamorphosis process • When they become sexual • They become sexually mature at the age of • 12 months. The females lay 300 to 1000eggs.
Lifespan • Good healthy ones live 12 to 15 years. • There has been reporting of up to26 years.
Range in money • $ 20.00 for juveniles • $ 35.00 for adults
Did you know • That a axolotl can be white with out being albino. • They are only albino if their eyes are red.
