The California Water Cycle By Rohun Athalye and Tyler Billing
Recycling Water • We are using way too much water and eventually, we will run out • Reclamation- The ability to recycle water • With reclamation, you can take used water, and clean it, and then use it for purposes other than drinking, such as watering plants.
Transporting water through California • Aqueduct- A system of pipes that carries water to places that do not have much rainfall • The Los Angeles aqueduct has been transporting water for about 100 years since it was built • Many Californians rely on aqueducts for clean water Right: The Los Angeles Dam
What is the Water Cycle • There are 4 main parts to the water cycle: Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation, and Runoff • Evaporation- Is the changing of the liquid water to water vapor • Condensation- After evaporation, condensation comes in and forms clouds, as the water vapor condenses • Precipitation- Can come in many forms such as snow, hail, and rain. Precipitation is anything that forms in, and falls from the sky. • Runoff- Is when the precipitation flows into the ocean, or a lake, or river
