Building Change in Your County Basic Methodology for Change Efforts • Before you start: Recognize that projects are short-term • Before you start: Take into account risks • Before your start: Create your structure. Set meeting ground rules. Consider the skills of your team. • Identify and articulate the problem • Ask the data • Refine the problem

  10. Building Change in Your County Where Should I Start? • Recognize what problems need to be resolved. When? What is the priority? • Develop your structure. Don’t forget your communication plan. • Build your team. Share your vision. Understand that you cannot do this alone. • Eliminate the “us” vs. “them” mentality. • Ask for help. Other counties, other states, and WSS can provide information to you to help you solve problems. • Be Positive! Foster a Culture of “We Can Do This”
