  3. Social Effects 1. FAMINE – huge food shortages Why?  • Lack of arable (Farm) land • Collective Farming practices • Poor farm equipment - not enough tractors and fuel Starving North Korean children. Large bunnies bred for North Korean farms to fight the food shortages.
