  2. Education • William Shakespeare was born 23 April 1564 • He was born in: Stratford-upon-Avon, a small English market town located 100 miles northwest of location. Stratford-upon-Avon, an small English market. • Biographers made Shakespeare to be poor and uneducated, that wasn't really the case • At age 4 or 5 he was enrolled in the kings new school • There are no records for the school so we don’t know exactly when he entered and left

  3. Major Work • his plays have been made into movies • His contribution to the English language is probably larger than that of anyone else • plays still rank as the greatest dramas ever produced in the English language four centuries after they were written.

Interesting Facts • He put a curse on anyone daring to move his body from that final resting place. • Is father was a money lender and was accused of lending money at the rate of 20% and 25%. • Shakespeare never published any of his plays himself. • All of Shakespeare's family members were illiterate. • Shakespeare was eighteen when he married Anne Hathaway in 1582. • Died on his birthday

  5. Shakespeare Family • Shakespeare's mother was born Mary Arden, the daughter of a well-to-do landowner in a lesser branch of an aristocratic family. • William was the third of eight children • William was the first born son of Mary and John Shakespeare.

Shakespeare William Ending • Shakespeare lived more than 400 years ago. • He died at 52 • He retired from London in 1610 • Died April 23 1616 • Believed to have died in the house his son-in-law would have attended, who happened to be the town physician • On truth his exact death date is not recored
