  1. More Stem-Changing Verbs! • There are two more groups of stem-changing verbs that we want to learn: the e > i and the o > ue.

  2. o > ue & e > i • Like the e > ie class, the o > ue and e > i verbs change in all forms except nosotros. • Here is a typical verb from each class. • Poder • Pedir • Take a guess at what the forms are before looking at the next slides.

  3. Poder (o > ue) • yo puedo • tú puedes • él puede • nosotros podemos • ellos pueden

  4. Pedir (e > i) • yo pido • tú pides • él pide • nosotros pedimos • ellos piden

  5. More verbs in these groups • o > ue: • Almorzar • Dormir • Volver • e > i: • Decir (** yo digo**) • Servir and one oddball… • u > ue: • Jugar
