2. Location We’re going to be putting alternative energy in a house located in the Australian Outback near Ayers Rock.

3. House • We are going to be covering 3258 ft² with alternative energy. • An acre around the house, we’re putting in a high voltage fence to keep snakes away.

4. Temperatures & Climate • The maximum average temperature in the summer season is 96 degrees Fahrenheit. • Winter season: 86 degrees Fahrenheit. • Spring season: 91 degrees Fahrenheit. • Fall season: 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

5. Alternative Energy • We are going to be using two different kinds of alternative energy sources. • Wind& • Solar • Through October to March is Alice Springs windiest months. • The rest of the time, the weather is mainly sunny.

6. Cost • We will be using solar powered glass tube panels mounted on the roof to warm up water. The cost for this item will be $210.00 if we buy three large panels. • We’ll use a solar electric power kit, which we’re buying 10 of. Four panels are included with four micro-inverters. All four panels create 1000 watts together. The cost of 10 of these kits will be $28,970.

7. Cost (continued) • We will be buying 12 volt batteries, 35 amp, IT Sealed Lead Acid Battery which are $52.10. We’re purchasing 20 of these batteries and the price for 20 of them is $1,042.00. The battery life of these deep cycle batteries is 4-8 years. • We’ll be purchasing a Whisper 100 Wind Generator with a 7 foot rotator. It is a 48 volt, 900 watt, it produces 100 KWH a month and 3.4 KWH per day. When we buy two of these the price will be $5,590.00

8. Cost (continued) • Our last purchase will be a power inverter for wind. It’s 300 watts and 24 volts. Each inverter is $99.95 (on sale) and if we buy 6 of them the price will be $599.70. • We are not purchasing a electric fence energizer, but if we did it would be $29.99. It uses 10 watts, 1000 volts, and we would make enough energy with our wind and solar power to run it.

9. Final Number! When we buy.. • Three large Solar Glass Tube Panels, • Ten Solar Electric Power Kits, • Twenty 12 volt batteries, • Two Wind Generators, and • Six Power Inverters.. Our Final price will be….$38,960.52, including tax.
