Slide ThreeJOB Find a job with your current level of education(High School Grad) Include description of job and your wages Calculate your yearly salary, subtract New York State taxes Calculate monthly income Yearly salary x federal tax rate( 15 %)- yearly salary Ex. 25,000 x .15= 3,750 State income tax- Yearly salary x state tax(5.9%) –Yearly salary Ex 25,000 x .059= 1,475 Add federal and state tax together and subtract from annual salary and divide by 12 to get monthly income. Ex 3,750 + 1,475 = 5,225 25,000 – 5,225 = 19,775 19,775/12= 1,647 monthly income
