Honest Broker Quality Care Partnership is a not for profit organisation, limited by guarantee, accountable to a Board of Directors. “An honest broker to the care sector”.
Quality Care Partnership • Sub-contract training delivery to 30 training providers. • Provide contract management, quality assurance of delivery and data management. • Social Care Broker in South Yorkshire. • Sector source of independent advice and guidance.
Quality Care Partnership • A partnership of care sector employers from older people services, disability services, mental health services, residential and domiciliary. • 275 employers engaged – mainly private and independent sector providers. • Partnership with training delivery providers, key stakeholders, Sheffield Health Authority, Local Authorities, Learning & Skills Council, TOPSS and Business Link South Yorkshire.
Mission Statement Quality Care Partnership will represent and support the care sector in the development of quality standards, through the provision of high quality workforce development solutions.

Social Care • Care of older people. • Care of adults with disabilities. • Care of adults with mental health problems. • People with long term chronic illness or terminal illness. • Care of children and young people.
Care Includes • Care of older people in residential and nursing homes. • Care of people in their own homes. • Care in day care centres. • Care of people in sheltered housing. • Care of people in hostels. • Care of young people in nurseries and/or with childminders.
Care Standards Act 2001 • Introduced National Minimum Standards in the Care Sector. • Concerned with improving standards in the sector including workforce development issues. Introduced Commission Social Care Inspection. • General Social Care Council • Highlights required levels of qualifications i.e. 50% of care staff to NVQ Level 2 by 2005.

Qualification Requirements • Care Staff: NVQ Level 2 in Care – 50%. • Senior Care Staff: NVQ Level 3 in Care. • Registered Managers Award and NVQ Level 4 in Care. • Assessor/Verifier Awards. • Skills for Life.
Quality Care Partnership can offer the following funding, primarily to the private care sector, but some support is available to the public sector
Funding Quality Care Partnership receives funding from the following sources: • Learning & Skills Council – brokerage funds. • European Social Fund – Invest in Skills – 20% employer contribution. • Employer Training Pilot – train2gain. • TOPSS – Sector Skills Council in development. • Business Link South Yorkshire – Investors in Peopleand Leadership & Management. • Local Authorities – funding through the TrainingStrategy Initiative. • Care sector employer contributions.

Quality • Quality Care Partnership sub-contract to a range of training providers, colleges and care employers, all delivering training and development to the care sector through work based learning. • Quality Care Partnership measure quality compliance, performance targets – contract compliance, and financial stability.
