The virtual client model builds on the principles of server-based computing, but goes further to employ an integrated suite of sophisticated components, including hardware, software, security, management, and services. Thin client devices on the user side then have ubiquitous, advanced access to a personalized, portable, and consistently presented desktop - regardless of network connection, type of access device, or physical location. As a result, both IT needs and user needs can be managed more easily and with improved security features in a consolidated environment.
