Instructional Look-fors • Academic Learning Strategies Curriculum for Middle and High Schools • Distribution of materials and resources from the FRVE • Purposeful, meaningful instruction during this scheduled time • Classroom Walkthroughs – Quality Indicators • VE Teacher Schedules Requested for IPS staff

  3. Procedural Look-fors • Provision of Accommodations • Data-collection to analyze student need and appropriateness of accommodations • Needed vs. Preferred • What is required for the student to be able to demonstrate what they know so the teacher can assess standards?

Many uses of the ESE Alpha Report • Keep IEPs current • Verify and enter correct assessment (FSA / FSAA) • For access points, be sure to schedule correctly using Access courses • For inclusion students, the minimum level of support is SF in all core every class • Review Cohort (9th grade entry year) – Diploma Options • Database for ensuring all SWDs are reviewed to verify correct scheduling of support • Shows you who; refer to IEPs to determine what type of service • Database for quickly generating caseload lists • Begin scheduling and updating IEPs now for FTE monitoring (Day Certain is October 12)

  5. Weekly Tip to Avoid Legal Pitfalls Do not respond to a parental request and make a unilateral decision without formally gathering the 504 or IEP Team. Unilateral decisions result in OCR violations.
