Preliminary Outcomes • 7/2005-9/2006 • 1255 Patients Have been evaluated and Treated by the Faculty and Residents of the Program • 550 Psychiatric Consults both formal and informal have been made
Sources of Patients • Primary Care Consultation From RST’s • Crisis Unit-SCMHTC • In-Patient Units of the SCMHTC • Sacramento County Alcohol and Drug • Sacramento Primary Care Clinics • Walk patients to the PCC • APSS-patients (who have lost Medi-Cal)
Outpatient “Medicine-psychiatry” General Internal Medicine Rotation for Psychiatry Residents • Innovative Program to provide Psychiatry Residents training in the primary care of complex patients at the SCPCC • Supervision by combined internal medicine and family medicine faculty • Bimonthly Medicine-Psychiatry Conference by UCDMC faculty and residents
Outpatient “Medicine-Psychiatry” General Internal Medicine Rotation for Psychiatry Residents • Weekly Didactics cover core topics in primary care over 2 months • “Curbside” consultation and supervision for clinicians at SCPCC • Exposure to evaluation and treatment of Hepatitis C in the Primary Care Setting
“Med-Psych” Fourth Year Medical Student Rotation • Parallels General Medicine Rotation with emphasis on exposure to integrated care • Includes both inpatient and outpatient settings in addition to the PCC • 3 tracks with focus on integration of psychiatry with either internal medicine or family medicine
