Population Trend in the SWSE and in all of Calgary David James, Peggy Holroyd, Colleen Renne, Pankaj Nalavde, Marilyn Groves

Trend in Average Age of the Population in the SWSE and in all of Calgary David James, Peggy Holroyd, Colleen Renne, Pankaj Nalavde, Marilyn Groves
Trend Average Age of Population Analysis • The average age has increased from 1986- 1996 and then decreases in 2001 • This suggest an influx of young people in the population
Trend in Average Persons Per Household in the SWSE and in all of Calgary David James, Peggy Holroyd, Colleen Renne, Pankaj Nalavde, Marilyn Groves
Trend in Average Persons Per Household Analysis • In the SWSE quadrants the average number of person decreased from 3 to 2.9 • In Calgary the average persons per household went from 2.8 to 2.7 and up to 3.0 in 2001. • This could be reflective of an overall increase in population. The housing market may have not been able to keep up with this latent demand for housing.
Trend in Non- Family/ One Family Households in the SWSE and in all of Calgary David James, Peggy Holroyd, Colleen Renne, Pankaj Nalavde, Marilyn Groves
Trend in Non- Family/ One Family Households Analysis • The SW / SE sector has had a more substantial increase in the number of one-family households than has the rest of Calgary • This could be a result of an increased need for single-family housing in the South, more than throughout the city.
