Introducing the Shweel™ (Shock Wheel), a wheel with shock absorbers. Shweel for cars, SUVs, vans, Pickups, Trucks and ATVs
Benefits • Airless! No accident due to flat at high speed! • Saves 10-15% fuel and 20% on maintenance • Reduces rolling resistance by 20-30% • Reduces greenhouse gas and pollution by 15% • Enhances driving comfort and stability • Long lasting replaceable traction treads • No aquaplaning, ice skating, sand digging • Absorbs shock! Recycles as metals do!
Drawbacks • Limited to mid-to-low speed vehicles • Costs more than rubber tires but last longer • Needs more engineering in design • Air shocks need lubrication and maintenance • Takes room from brake assembly fixtures • Needs dust, dirt and mud protection
Working principles • The axel load deflects the hub downward • That reduces rolling radius, adding stability • The contact radius remains large however • That reduces penetration and resistance • Towing/driving force pushes the hub forward • That assists towing/driving by load eccentricity • That is expressed in downhill road grade (15%) • That gains velocity and saves power by time
Who would benefit most • Construction vehicles and equipments • Mining machinery and trucks • Agricultural machinery and off-roads • Military trucks, tanks and vehicles • Highway trucking and transportation • Forest services, fire fighters, service vehicles • Motorcycles and bicycles • Motorized endurance sports
Passenger vehicles • Shocks fit best into 22” rims or larger • Best operates under 75 mph • High loads requires two layers of shocks • Shock may be placed outside of the tire • Low profile tires (H<40%W) are required • Tires better be filled with foam • The air shocks deflect more than tires do • Shock absorbing in not new in automotives
