  2. What are dynamics? • Dynamics are the different types of volume you can play • There are many different types of dynamics but piano (p) and forte (f) are the most common.

  3. Piano • What does piano mean? • Piano is the little dynamic, it means to play softly • There are many different types of piano dynamics: • mezzo piano (mp): moderately soft • piano (p): soft • pianissimo (pp): very soft • pianississimo (ppp): as soft as possible mp p pp ppp

  4. Forte • What does forte mean? • Forte is the big dynamic! It means to play loud, and with a full sound. • There are many different types of forte dynamics: • mezzo forte (mf): moderatly loud • forte (f): loud • fortissimo (ff): very loud • Fortississimo (fff): as loud as possible fff ff f mf
